		<description>1102 is the engine number.  97 was that time slot, similar to a flight number for airlines.  Odd numbers were for northbound trains and southbound trains had even numbers.  38 would have been a train ti the other direction.  

The 1102 engine was new.  It was delievered from the Balwin factory in Philadelphia just 36 days before this wreck.</description>
